3rd Annual Super Jake & Friends Toy Drive
Super Jake Super Heroes descended upon the 4th floor oncology unit of Children's Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 29 for the 3rd annual Super Jake & Friends Toy Drive.
|
We delivered between 500 and 600 toys, bringing smiles to dozens of kids with cancer this year! This year's contribution was a record by far thanks to the contributions of a number of people including Board Member Dawn Ludden who had guests bring toys for Super Jake to her daughters' birthday party this summer; to Kendra Kett and Michael Desens at Abbott's Child Care Center, Early Discoveries, for hosting a center-wide toy drive throughout November; and to Miss Illinois Alexandra Murphy for holding a special toy drive at her school, St. Gilbert's.
Thank you all. We also refilled the toy chests we donated to the hospital so kids getting painful procedures can get a special treat afterward.
