From an intimate American Authors concert, to teeing off in capes and enjoying Bub City pulled pork sandwiches before teeing off, The MIX 101.9 fm Eric and Kathy Annual Charity Golf Outing benefiting The Super Jake Foundation was a huge success — raising nearly $30,000 for kids with cancer. Complete with a hot tub brigade, the Whip and Slide and a golf ball launcher, the annual, once again sold out event is not your typical golf outing. In fact, the first hole prize goes to the person with the shortest drive.
Many thanks to the amazing Super Jake volunteers, auction donors, sponsors, The MIX 101.9 fm, and most of all, to the golfers, for making this event a hole in one in the battle against pediatric cancer. Because only 3 percent of The American Cancer Society’s funding goes towards pediatric cancer, successful events like this are imperative to help children and families dealing with this horrible disease.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for some upcoming fundraising events: The Twilight Shuffle in Libertyville on Sep. 4 and the Red Cape Gala on Feb. 11 at the Westin in Wheeling. More information to come as we get closer to the events.
